1. It is bordered by China to the south and Russia to the north.
2. Although it does not share a border with Kazakhstan, Mongolia separated from Kazakhstan
3. Mongolia is the 18th largest and fully sovereign state in the world's most populous country, with a population of about 3 million people.
4. It is a landlocked country the second largest in the world
5. The country contains very little arable land, as much of the area covered by a grassy meadow, with mountains to the north and west
6. About 30% of the population are nomadic or semi-nomadic.
7. Horse culture is still important. The majority of the population is Buddhist.
8. The non-religious population is the second largest group. Islam is the dominant religion among ethnic Kazakhs.
9. Mongolia joined the World Trade Organization in 1997 and seeks to expand its participation in regional trade and economic group.
