National University of Mongolia








HISTORY

The National University of Mongolia was established on October 5, 1942, as the first modern university in Mongolia. Faculty of Pedagogy at first, Medicine, Science and Veterinarian. Agriculture, Natural Sciences, the Mongolian Studies, Foreign Languages, as well as research activities were added shortly thereafter. Some of the operations supported by staff and material provided by the Soviet Union.

Some of the early faculty rotated to separate universities, including the University of Agriculture in 1958, the Medical University in 1961, and the Technical University and the University of the Humanities in 1982.

In 1942, 93 students and 53 students who attend a preparatory course at the University, and graduated the first was held in 1946, with 35 students.

In 1959, the rector of the university was changed to Mongolia party. Namsrain Sodnom, university graduate, was appointed as the first President of Mongolia Ts while. Sürenkhorloo was appointed as vice president of academic affairs.

In 1947, the graduate faculty has been established to provide university professors and scientists.

In 1994, 13 students have been awarded a master's degree. In 1997, graduate affairs department was established with the aim to increase the number of postgraduate students.

MONGOLIA UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Mongolian University of Science and Technology, one of the top universities in the country, located on a spacious campus in Ulaanbaatar city, Darkhan, Erdenet, Uvurkhangai, and Sukhbaatar provinces. Between science and technology university in Asia, he was placed 7th in 2002.

It is also one of the largest centers for the exchange of science and culture in Mongolia. About two-thirds of all academic educated Mongolia has passed from MUST.

MUST consist of seventeen professional schools, colleges and 3 institutes and 36 research centers and technology experiment that faculty offer educational opportunities to students ranging from first-year students through the doctoral candidate in engineering, technology and others.

Currently around 22,000 students including international students who enroll and enjoy life at the university, and 120 professors and more than a thousand staff involved in student training, education and research, the university administration and management.

The main thrust of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology is a goal-oriented research and development (R & D) related to the country's needs.
